CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE ROUGE 2010 « Vieilles Vignes"
Stephen TANZER Wine Cellar Nov 11 - Note : 90-92 By Josh Raynolds

( 60% grenache and 10% each of mourvedre, syrah, cinsault and counoise, raised in concrete and old foudres): Deep ruby. Sexy red fruit aromas are complicated by garrigue and Asian spices. Refreshingly taut and nervy on the palate, with juicy raspberry and bitter cherry flavors putting on weight with air. The raspberry notes repeats on the long, spice-accented finish. This wine should age well on its balance

Deep ruby. Powerful aromas of black raspberry, licorice, garrigue and smoked meat. Dense and ripe, with good depth adding to the dark berry and licorice pastille flavors. Broad, chewy and ripe in style, reminding me a bit of a wine from 2007, showing good finisching cling and length.
ROBERT PARKER Wine Advocate Oct. 2009 - Note : 92-95 +
The stunning 2009 Châteauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes (from 80-100 year old vines) gives some credibility to the vignerons'arguments that in the drought-stricken 2009 growing season, the northem Châteauneuf du Pape parcels were less impacted than those in the south. Domaine la Milliere's vineyards are all in the northem sector. The deep ruby/purple-hued possesses abundant blackerry, black cherry and cassis fruit intermixed with notions of camphor, truffes, garrigue and licorice. Dense, thick and rich, it is potentially one of the few 2009 Châteauneuf du Pape that will eclipse its 2007 counterpart. An opulent, voluptuous texture, long finish and heady combinaison of herbs and super-concentrated fruit make for a wine that can be drunk upon release or cellared for 12-15 years.

Stephen TANZER Wine Cellar Jan 10 - Note : 87 By Josh Raynolds

Ruby-red. Pungent aromas of kirsch, smoky minerals and Indian spices. Brighter red berries on the palate, along with tangy mineral and blood orange qualities. Nicely focused and pure but comes up a bit short on the spicy finish.

Proprietor Michel Arnaud consistently produces seductive Châteauneuf-du- Pape from his nearly 40 acres of vines located in one of the appellation’s finest sectore, Cabrières. His dark ruby-colored 2008 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes offers nose of licorice, forest floor, red currants, sweet cherries, and a hint of herbaceouness in the background. This elegant 2008 is ideal for drinking over the next 5-6 years.

COTE DU RHONE ROSE 2008 " Miss Rose "

On adore, tentons quelques langoustines sautées !

Robe soutenue, nuance pourpre. Nez de fruits bien mûrs (cerise noire), arrière-plan mêlant note de moka et de grillé. Belle présence en bouche, matière mûre, enveloppée, puissance maîtrisée, belle longueur. Un Châteauneuf de caratère.

Brignt ruby. Intensely pefumed, with a spicy bouquet of raspberry, kirsch, smoky herbs ans minerals. Open-knit red and dark berry flavors coat the palate and are supported by finegrained tannins. Finishes with godd sweetness, clarity and an echo of minerals. Here's another 2007 that will be very appealing on release.
ROBERT PARKER Wine Advocate 179 Oct. 2008 - Note : 92-94
"Young proprietor Michel Arnaud continue to turn out forward, complex, seductive Châteauneuf du Pape. The 2007 Châteauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes reveals gorgeous aromas of spring flowers, crushed blak cherries, ink, lavender and spice. The wine is dense ruby/purple-hued, deep, and full-bodied with terrific concentration, a layered texture, and a stunningly long finish. It should drink beautiful young, yet age for 15 or more years. Exhibiting the vintage's hallmark garrigue, ground pepper, spice box, earth, and leathery notes intermixed with hints of bay leaf, red currants and cherries"

Drink 2011-20
Glowing ruby. Hidden, but intriguing nose. Solid and tarry. Very sweet start and then molten black cherries. Then it tightens itself up for the finish, but all is very interesting and promising. Good balance and a wine with a beginning, middle and end.

"The 2006 Châteauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes has that very forward lusciousness of the vintage, excellent if not outstanding depth, loads of black currant and sweet cherry fruit, with hints of smoke, herbs, meat and licorice. It is depp ruby/purple, medium to full-bodied, and hedonistic, but at the same time, it seems to have an emerging complexity as well. Drink it over the next 12-14 years. This is an estate to take notice of, as recent evaluations in this guide have certainly made abundantly clear. This is another great example of young emerging newcomers, in this case Aimé and Micher Arnaud, doing all the right things to turn out some impressive wines."
Stephen TANZER Wine Cellar Jan/Feb 08 - Note : 90-92 By Josh Raynolds
"Deep, youthful red. Spicy, mineral-accented cherry and dark berry aromas offer greater depth than the 2005, with an exotic tobacco quality adding interest. Concentrated and broad, offering chewy dark berry preserve flavours, firm tannins and a long, sweet finish. Altogether more rich and serious than the 05. but perhaps lacking that wine’s vivacity."
Jancis ROBINSON Journaliste au FINANCIAL TIMES - Note : 17/20 - 10/12/07
"Bright red. Rich, round and winning. Confident expression of local fruit without too many extra knobs on. Not one of the most powerful – and you could drink it relatively young – but a very classic and representative Châteauneuf, a blend of five different varieties."

This fine estate offers two very tasty, inexpensive Cotes du Rhone. The 2006 is slightly more austere and lean than the 2005, but still very good, almost tasting like a premier cru from Burgundy’s Cote de Beaune. It should be drunk in the next 3-4 years. This is an estate to take notice of, as recent evaluations in this guide have certainly made abundantly clear. This is another great example of young emerging newcomers, in this case Aimé and Michel Arnaud, doing all the right things to turn out some impressive wines.

"The brillant 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes is a sexy-styled wine, especially for this structured, masculine, and somewhat restrained and backward vintage. This is full-bodied opulence with sweet tannins, low to moderate acidity, and gorgeous levels of plum, fig, black currant, and sweet cherry fruit intermixed with some smoked meat and lavender. This is a beauty of layered opulence and luscious texture. Drink it over next 12-15 years. "Medium red. Sexy raspberry and cherry on the nose, with fresh floral and spicy mineral character building with aeration. Livel²y red fruit flavours stain the palate but maintain a suave lightness and good clarity. Finishes with juicy persistence and lingering raspberry and baking spice qualities. There’s something positively pinot-like about this, and it’s utterly delicious now. But if you require Chateauneuf to assault your palate, you’ll like this wine less than I did."

Dark red. Ripe, expressive and pungent on the nose, with aromas of singed cherry, dark plum, kirsh and garrigue. Wonderfully fresh and energetic on the palate, with seductive baking spice notes accenting the lush, sweet, berry fruit. Warm, supple and long on the gently tannic finish.
ROBERT PARKER Wine advocate 169 Fev. 2007 Note : 89
The 2004 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes is evolved with undeniable Provencal notes of pepper, seaweed, sweet, and smoky cherries and herbs in a medium-bodied, supple style. Even some earthy beet root characteristics, reminiscent of Pinot Noir, jump from the glass of this medium-bodied, plumy, round and seductive Châteauneuf du Pape. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.
